Window Tinting FAQ
Quick answers to the questions people ask most. If yours isn't here, call (352) 820-5568.
Common questions
Are you a tint shop?
No. We are a free referral line. An independent local installer gives you the quote, chooses and installs the film, and stands behind the work.
What does it cost to call?
Nothing. You pay only the installer you decide to hire.
How dark can I tint my car in Florida?
For most sedans, front side windows must let in more than 28% of light and rear side and back windows more than 15%. SUVs, trucks and vans can go to 6% on rear sides and back. See our Florida window tint law guide.
How much does window tinting cost in Ocala?
It depends on the vehicle or number of windows, the film (dyed, carbon or ceramic) and whether old film must be removed. The installer quotes the price before any work.
Can someone come to my home or business?
For home and commercial film, installers normally come to you. For cars, some installers are mobile and some work only at their shop. Ask when you call.
Who handles the warranty?
The installer and the film manufacturer. Ask for the warranty terms in writing.
Dyed, carbon or ceramic: which is best?
Dyed film costs least, carbon resists fading and rejects more heat, and ceramic rejects the most heat at a given shade. See ceramic window tint.
How long does tint last?
Quality film often lasts many years. Fading, bubbling or purple tint usually means older dyed film that should be replaced.
Can old tint be removed?
Yes. Removal is common and usually priced separately. Ask the installer.

Window Tinting Ocala is a free referral service, not a tint shop. We do not install window film ourselves. Requests are passed to independent tint installers in the area who set their own prices, choose their own film, do the work and are fully responsible for it and for any warranty. Ask any installer about film brand, warranty, price and Florida tint limits before you book.
